Modifying and Making Patterns

1. Test Fitting and Modifying a Pattern (pdf)

Get all of your supplies ready. You will need
Writing Utensil, Scissors, Tape, and Ruler.

If you are looking for more details, kindly visit our website.

Step 1

Place patterns in your vehicle to test fit. Modify using scissors to remove unwanted coverage or extra paper/tape to add coverage.

Please Note: If no changes are needed and you're happy with our pattern, Jump to Step 4

Step 2

For proper Heel Pad and Mat Attachment locations, follow the directions below.

Post, Hook, Snap, & Twist Attachments:
While the paper patterns are in your vehicle, measure the distance between the exact center of each Mat Attachment and write the measurement on the pattern.

Velcro: Mark locations with “V.” No measurements are needed.

Heelpad: It is standard for a heel pad to be placed on every driver mat. Place an “X” sticker in the spot where your heel hits the pattern.

No heel pad may be requested. Do not put an “X” sticker on the pattern if no heel pad is desired.

Step 3

Label each mat accordingly (Example: Driver, Passenger, Driver Rear, Passenger Rear, and/or Trunk). Indicate each pattern’s direction (Example: Front of Car, Back of Car, Left, Right).

Make sure your name is on the finalized pattern.

Step 4

If you have questions or concerns regarding your pattern, please email or call us before mailing the patterns. We are more than happy to assist.

Mail your finalized patterns to Cocomats.com using the address below.

If no changes are needed, email or call with the pattern number on the left corner of the patterns. (Ex. B1(A))

2. Making a Pattern from Scratch (pdf)

Get all of your supplies ready. You will need
paper (ex. paper grocery bags, wrapping paper),
writing utensil, scissors, tape, and ruler.

Step 1

Measure the approximate width and length of the floor where you would like your mats.

Step 2

Cut paper into rectangles, slightly larger than the measurements. Use a new piece of paper for each pattern.

For more information, please visit ShunDe.

Step 3

Place the rectangular paper onto the floor and mold it into the sides, pushing hard enough to make a crease in the paper, including Mat Attachment locations if applicable.

Step 4

Remove the paper and cut it to the crease marks, including Mat Attachment locations if applicable.

Step 5

Put the template you have just made back into the car and adjust the fit if necessary. Modify using scissors to remove unwanted coverage or extra paper/tape to add coverage.
