It is important to get conversions of any parameters correctly as they are very sensitive. One of the common conversion categories is grams which are used in standard metric system. The other common conversion category is ounces that are used from Victorian era as well as in several countries where it is used as a unit of weight instead of using grams and this is because it is much older and much common. Gram is the unit of mass where weight and mass will be the same term on earth. Every conversion unit has its own symbol with the gram represented by g.
SI base unit of mass is Kilogram represented as Kg and gram is 1x10-3 kg or it is the thousandth part of kilogram. The weight references of some of the common objects will be able to give you a better idea of the gram unit for example a paper clip normally weighs 1 g, a golf ball weighs 50 g, an egg also weighs 50g while 1 medium potato weighs 150 g. Ounce is also a unit of mass and it is abbreviated as oz. One ounce has different values in different systems. The US customary system uses ounce as the common unit of mass. Ounce has several variants which will depend on where it is being used and below are some examples:
1 International avoirdupois ounce = 28.349 523 g
1 International troy ounce = 31.103 476 g
1 Apothecaries ounce = 31.103 476 g
1 Maria Theresa ounce = 28.066 8 g
1 Dutch metric ounce = 100 g
1 Chinese metric ounce = 50 g
International avoirdupois ounce is the most commonly used type of ounce and this is especially in the United States. You can also convert grams to ounces although this will best be done with a calculator where there are no lengthy multiplications or divisions involved and this will mean that converting from grams to ounces will be very easy as well as quick. To be able to come with the most appropriate results you will need to follow a few simple steps and you will be able to get your values. It is important when trying to convert grams to ounces to remember a particular equation which is 1 gram is equal to 0.0352739619 ounces or in a simpler form it is 1 gram is equal to 0.035 ounce.
So when trying to convert grams to ounces you will have to multiply the grams by 3.5 and divide it by 100. For example if you wish to convert 50 grams to ounces you will do it in this format 50 multiplied by 0.035 and the converted value will come to 1.763698095 where when rounded to three decimal places it will give a value of 1.764 ounces. So 50 grams is equals to 1.764 ounces. In order to convert grams to ounces manually you will need a pen and a paper and instead of multiplying the grams value with 0.035 just multiply the grams by 3.5 and shift the decimal by 2 units on the left.
