We understand this construction process can look intimidating at first, but we strive to be as minimally invasive as possible. But in the end, you’ll see that Tachus fiber Internet is well worth the wait. One of the first things you will notice during construction is that the road right-of-way will have different colored flags and water-based paint.

What are the flags and markings on my property for?
Once you begin to see locate markings and flags in the right-of-way, you can expect Tachus' construction to start soon. These locate marks are to alert our crews of the existing utilities locations. They are for your safety and ours, so please do not move them. Unfortunately, we are only good as the locates placed, so if they are moved or incorrectly marked, we run the risk of damaging other utility lines. Our goal is to build in your community effectively and efficiently. Like all construction processes, there is potential for damages and disruption. Our crews do not know where your sprinkler systems, landscape lighting, or any pet fences are placed, so please let us or the crews know of their location to avoid damage to them. Tachus strives to make this process go as smoothly as possible. If you should encounter any issues while our contractors are working in your area, please notify Tachus immediately.

What do the different colors mean?
These flags and markers are our eyes to the ground below. Each color represents a different utility or service:

  • White: Proposed excavation
  •
  • Green: Sewer and drain lines
  •
  • Blue: Water
  •
  • Red: Power lines, cables, conduit, and lighting cables
  •
  • Yellow: Gas, oil, steam, petroleum, or gaseous materials
  •
  • Orange: Communications, alarm or signal lines, cables, or conduit

We only work in the front right-of-way or utility easements of the property. We have gone through the appropriate approval processes, and as a registered utility company in the state of Texas we are allowed to work within the rights-of-way. Again, we want this to be a painless process, and we would love to address any of your concerns. Just reach out to our team either by phone or email at 832.791.1100 or support@tachus.com.
