Exploring Tanning and Different Equipment for what is Best for YOU!

If you have never tanned before- you may be surprised to find out there is many different types of tanning beds. So how do you figure out what tanning bed is best for you, what is the difference, and are they all the same?

I am going to help explain some of The Tanning Studio’s equipment in this blog, now I have been in the tanning industry for 9 years. I have done Smart Tan Certification training, Vitamin D Angel Certification, many Tanning Conferences, so I am knowledgeable in the Tanning industry. I would like to think I know my stuff when it comes to UV and Sunless tanning or I would not be very good at my job lol! That is a little bit of my background- so you know who is telling you about tanning equipment!

My best advice for finding the best bed is 2 things: 1. Figure out your skin type and know you tanning potential. Which a salon professional should help you do on your first visit! 2. Find a tanning bed that is the most relaxing and comfortable to YOU! This is going to make your session so much better. I guess my third piece of advice is knowing why your tanning: are you tanning for vacation or are you a year-round tanner.

So why do these things matter? This helps determine what bed is best for you. Each tanning bed can output different amounts of UV, and based on your skin type if you are fair and burn easily it may not be in your best interest to start in the strongest tanning bed. If you love to be lavished with luxury and fancy features, you may want to pick the tanning bed that has those features and it is less about color and more about comfort.

Its time lets dive into some of our tanning beds starting with our basic level 2. 
This bed is a good starting bed for someone very fair skin. It’s 20 minutes. If your fair, we can start off at 5-7 minutes and slowly work you up a minute at a time. The other reason this bed is fantastic- do you need 20 minutes to disappear from your life? Perfect this is your bed! Take 20 minutes, get your get tan, with fans, and high-pressure facials, and relax- no interruptions!

Stepping up from the Level 2 is our Level 3– this bed is a 15-minute maximum time. This is great for a fairer to medium/fair skin type that is looking for a bed that has more personalized features. This high-pressure feature can be adjusted from high to low to off- giving you more options for how you want your face to tan. You also have the option to turn your fan on high, low or off- me personally I need every fan on high or I will die, but hey to each their own! This bed is also slightly larger than the level 2 so is will be more comfortable. This bed is still going to be great for the person looking to disappear for a while and take a nap. That 15 minutes of complete relation, no interruptions from life!

The Level 4 is one of our more popular levels and honestly one of my favorites! Why? Because you have two different options! We have a stand-up option and a lay down option- both are incredible. I am going to start with the stand-up because that is something not many Tanning Salons always offer. It is a great option if you are taller or hate the feeling of laying down in a tanning bed (claustrophobic). It also is a 360-degree tan- so no tan lines. I love this bed because it is quick! A 9-minute tan, I get the color I want, and I am done. The stand up is also a bed that has a nice UVB output (closer to what is naturally outside) so you get a good Vitamin D boost!

The level 4 laydown is a great step up from level 3- it has a higher, flat acrylic so it is much more comfortable to lay down in. It also means less potential for tan lines. This bed is perfect again for someone that maybe taller or wanting their laydown bed to be more spacious. This bed also is where the bed features start to become amazing and luxurious! It has an adjustable high-pressure facial, air conditioning, body vents and an MP3 hook up. You really get to make this 12-minute laydown you own personal slice of heaven!

Last that I will touch on is the best of the best! The level 5! This is the king of luxury- it has so many features that make your tanning session relaxing and gives you amazing color. This bed is perfect if your taller or love having a spacious bed to lay down in (which I do). This bed is my mini vacation to Mexico, it is 10 minutes of complete bliss. The slight mist every few minutes with the air conditioning makes you feel like you are on the beach. I am also a big fan of having my tan quickly, so I love that it is a 10 minute bed. It also has a nice mixture of UVB and UVA – giving you a nice Vitamin-D boost! If you have never tried this bed it is simply a must!
