Can human growth hormone help you lose weight and be young forever?

Actually, I was in the process of writing something else when I received a third letter from someone selling Somaderm, a homoeopathic human growth hormone (HGH) gel made by New U Life. I took it as a sign of the universe, stopped what I was doing, and finally started writing this review of Somaderm.

The first email I received from a Somaderm distributor was strange and cryptic. It was just a few lines, addressing me by name and asking: “Have you tried the gel?”

I had no idea what kind of gel she was talking about: birth control gel, moisturizing gel and hair gel, whatever.

Can you rub HGH into your skin and get all kinds of benefits? Liquid gold? Esophagitis?

When I asked her to send me something so that I could try it myself before viewing it, she said: “No, we are not doing this, I’m sorry! If you decide to change your mind and want to try the product to see how cool it is, and then leave a real review, please contact me. ”

The founder of New U Life is a certified homoeopath, herbalist, “respected” iridologist and nutrition consultant (N.C.). None of these certifications is recognized by evidence-based medicine as having any significance, but I think that they are legal in the world of alternative medicine. It is important to note that there is no evidence behind each of these designations.

Growth hormone levels decrease as you get older, starting around the age of 25. According to New U Life, “this is when the terrible aging process begins, as this hormone slowly decreases to the end of life.”

Aging are terrible aging processes? I don’t even know where to start.

New U Life claims that by complementing their product, users can return their HGH levels to peak levels, which, according to the company, are associated with:

• Better mood

•Hair Growth

• Joint mobility

• Enhanced libido

• healthy hair, skin and nails

• increase muscle tone

• increased strength

• improved memory

• increased bone density

• increased fat loss (especially in the middle part)

It’s a hell of a lot of promises but wait.

Talking about aging as the worst in the world is a smart (and dirty IMO) sales technique that works on fear. You know as well as I do that nothing … and I mean, NOTHING can stop aging. Praise God for aging, because it means that you have made it this far and you are alive! Aging is a privilege!

What’s in Somaderme?

Somaderm contains three active ingredients:

Somatropin, which is a human growth hormone.

Glandula Suprarenalis Suis, which is a pig adrenal gland.

Thyroidin, which is a cow’s thyroid hormone.

I hope Somaderm users are not vegans!

As with all homeopathic “medicines” (and I use this term freely), the active ingredients must be diluted VERY much so as not to require a prescription.

The Somaderm website states: For SOMADERM gel to be an FDA-registered product, somatropin must be diluted to a dose of 30X. Any smaller dilution will make SOMADERM Gel a prescription-only product. Glandula Suprarenalis Suis 6X has been added to support proper adrenal function, and Thyroidinum 8X has been added to support a healthy thyroid gland.

At a dose of homoeopathy, a dose of 30X means that the ingredient was diluted 1: 9 in distilled water or alcohol. Then this process is repeated 30 times. There is no standard dose that Somaderm can claim, so it is impossible to compare the dose of a product with anything. Homoeopathic mixtures, however, are usually understood by experts based on evidence, like most water with minimal effectiveness in general.

Science.

Since science is the basis of this review of Somaderm (and all of my reviews), I went in search of some product research. There are no studies on the Science tab of the New U Life website. When I clicked Learn More in the hope of doing some real HGH research, it led me to the Somaderm sales page along with information on how I could become a distributor.

There is no research at all for this product. When I asked the distributor about this, she replied: “We have a medical advisory board, and they know that thousands of doctors in the company want real research. It is coming. As soon as I have a little, I will send it to you.

There are 15 studies that New U Life cite in their literature, although it is curious that they do not associate the studies with any of their specific statements. This is also good since none of them proved that additional growth hormone has any advantages — against aging or not — in normal people who are not deficient in growth hormone.

Let’s go through them:

1. This is just a study of growth hormone and its structure.

2. Made on older men, growth hormone is given along with testosterone.

3. Another study on how endogenous (not optional) growth hormone works in the body.

4. This is from a textbook and discusses the treatment of growth hormone in deficient adults.

5. Again, more about the treatment of growth hormone in adults with a deficiency.

6. Done on strength athletes, the results are inconclusive.

7. This study of human sex hormones and diabetes is completely unrelated to growth hormone.

8. Talk about sex hormones in aging men.

9. It is about the addition of growth hormone for adults with a deficiency.

10. This study talks about growth hormone and bone growth.

11. Made on patients with acute respiratory failure who have mechanical ventilation, and the results were poor.

12. The study is not available.

13. This 1989 study focuses on growth hormone-deficient adults. SIGH

14. This study involved 16 people.

See how companies like to cite “research,” which a layman considers legitimate, but probably can’t handle to figure out how it isn’t?

And here is something else interesting! Earlier this year, ASRC quoted New U Life for making false statements — the very statements I listed above. “In particular, the marketing specialist was unable to provide any competent and reliable evidence to demonstrate that the Somaderm gel formula and/or transdermal administration would provide the intended health benefits of growth hormone.”

There are other unpleasant things that I saw and heard about Somaderm, such as erasing negative reviews on Facebook and the use of doctors who have less than a stellar reputation.

Is HGH harmful?

Growth hormone is used for growth hormone deficiency, a very serious medical problem that requires treatment from a real doctor (not a naturopath or MLM seller). And yes: if you have a deficiency of GR, you will find out about it.

For GH deficiency, HGH is delivered by the injections that are prescribed by the doctor.

It is not that Somaderm is all, however.

If you do not have GH deficiency, adding growth hormone can cause joint pain and swelling, and also increase your risk of diabetes. It may also be associated with an increased risk of cancer.
