Pack King has come up with a cost-effective alternative to manual pallet wrapping for companies that can’t justify the purchase of a conventional semi-automatic stretch wrap machine.
The Rapid Wrapper is a pallet-sized powered turntable with a generous 2 tonne working load capability that rotates at 8rpm, allowing the operator to wrap a pallet of goods with ease.
“It simply doesn't make sense to wrap a pallet of goods with stretch wrap, while the operator is pulling on the film to stretch it, and walk backwards at the same time,” says Ron Mileham of Pack King. “It invites strains, aches and trip hazards.
“It's far easier and safer to load the pallet onto the Rapid Wrapper, hold the film dispenser, push the foot switch, and let the powered turntable do the hard work, while the operator tensions the film and overlaps it as required,” Mileham concludes.
The Rapid Wrapper is around half the price of basic masted semi-auto stretch wrap machines. It is perfect for small businesses and as a stand by for larger businesses for when their expensive stretch wrappers fail, and they have to wait for them to be repaired.
As there is no mast, there is no limit to the size of the load that can be wrapped, so long lengths of pipe, or pallets full of bumper are no problem.
The compact unit is only 280mm high. It comes with a heavy-duty low-voltage (24V) foot control with a 3m cable and removable plug. The 4m heavy duty power lead also has a removable plug.
There are notched fork sleeves that enable the whole unit to be lifted and stowed on pallet racking, with no fear of falling off. And as both cables can be unplugged there are no trailing cables to worry about.
