Instructions and Precautions of Autoclave

What’s the principle of autoclave?

The autoclave works based on the principle that the boiling point of water rises when the steam pressure rises.

How to use the autoclave?

Autoclave sterilization requires a total of 7 sequential steps: water adding - stacking - sealing - setting of sterilization temperature and time - heating (discharge of cold air) - sterilization - ending.

Step 1. Water adding: Open the lid of the autoclave, take out the sterilization barrel, and pour distilled water into the container to the water level mark;

Step 2. Stacking: Keep proper space between items when stacking;

Step 3. Sealing: After the items are stacked, cover the autoclave, and tighten the handwheel clockwise to seal the lid and the opening, but it should not be too tight to damage the sealing ring;

Step 4. Setting of sterilization temperature and time: adjust the setting key to set the required sterilization temperature and time;

Step 5. Heating (exhaust cold air): Connect the power supply, power indicator light and heating indicator light. Before starting heating, rotate the exhaust valve to the exhaust position. After the cold air has completely escaped, close the exhaust valve;

Step 6. Sterilization: When the temperature and pressure reach the preset sterilization temperature and pressure values, the heating lamp conducts sterilization, the instruments get into the constant temperature state for sterilization, and the timer automatically counts;

Step 7. Ending: After the sterilization time reaches the set time, the buzzer will sound an alarm, and the sterilization will end. Turn off the power supply, and when the pressure drops to zero, open the release valve. After the steam is completely released, open the container and take out the sterilized items.

What are the notes for autoclave?

Note 1. Check whether the water level is at the water level mark before each sterilization;

Note 2. During heating, the air release valve must be set to the air release position, so that the cold air in the autoclave can escape, otherwise the sterilization effect will be affected;

Note 3. After each sterilization, the water in the autoclave should be drained, the scale should be cleaned, and new distilled water should be replaced to improve the quality of sterilization and prolong the service life;

Note 4. The pressure of the autoclave must be reduced to zero after each sterilization, and the container can be opened only after the steam is completely removed;

Note 5. Do not keep the sterilized items in the pot overnight;

Note 6. Do not vent too quickly, pay attention to safety, and be careful of burns.
