Don't let the large opening fool you - this meter is more sensitive and more accurate than small-opening meters made by big-names like Fluke. While you are lucky if a regular clamp goes down to .01 amps or even .1 amps sometimes, this meter goes down to .00001 amps! In the EMF survey field we do actually use the auto-ranging milliamps feature of this meter! Sometimes having 10 or so milliamps on a line or pipe is significant enough to need to see where it's coming from.

Our favorite overall clamp meter. We didn't think we would ever carry a clamp, until we found this one. This is THE meter to have for EMF surveys, finding current on pipes, conduit, romex cables, cable TV lines, and just about anything. We have tried out a lot of different clamps, and found most to have the following issues: not accurate, not sensitive (few clamps show milliamps), opening not large enough. While most clamp meters are made to measure high-current in a single wire/conductor, this one is specifically made to find "leaking" AC current - even in tiny amounts such as milliamps or even .01 milliamps.
