The Role Baling Wire Plays in the Recycling Industry

Learn about the importance of baling wire in the recycling industry.

Whether it is manufacturers, recycling companies, distributors, or many other industries, many recyclable materials need to be handled properly. These materials include metals, paper, corrugated cardboard, and plastic. A baler helps with ensuring all recyclable materials are organized, stored, and prepared ready for recycling. This is where baling wire plays an important role.

The bale wire is fed into the baler to hold together the recyclable material. The wire helps to keep the materials neatly packaged and in this way ensures your facility is cleaner and more organized. A bale tie also makes it much easier to load your baled materials onto a trailer ready for transit.

It sounds simple on the surface, but there are various points to consider when selecting bale wire. After all, there are numerous types of baling wire available – and the right one depends on certain factors.

When selecting the right type of wire, you need to account for the type of material you are baling, where the bales will be stored, your baler, and so on.

In the recycling industry, there are three main baling wire types used:

•Galvanized baling wire: This wiring has a zinc coating to prevent rust and corrosion from damaging the integrity of the wire. It’s rated as extra-strong, designed to be used with a two ram baler which bales all types of materials.

•Black annealed baling wire: Annealing is a finishing process that imbues metal materials with additional positive characteristics, such as resistance to corrosion. The annealing process imparts a protective black surface layer to the metal. This wire is designed for single ram auto tie balers.

•Single loop baling wire: Our single loop baling wire is sturdy and reliable enough for use with vertical and horizontal balers, minimizing the risk of failure during feeding and tying. The wiring gets fed through the slots in vertical balers and wraps around the bales for operators to tie by hand. If the metal isn’t suitably strong, it will snap. Strong wiring saves operators from re-baling spilled trash.

You will find it in different lengths, gauges, and finishes when it comes to each wire. If you’re searching for high-quality baling wire for your recycling needs, get in touch with BaleForce Recycling Equipment today!
