Black Pipe and Fittings: As we visit jobs, we often find things that were not installed per current code. Although some work has been there for years and is working properly, often there is a need to repair or replace in order to assure safety or to keep from damaging equipment. It is important to be able to properly identify fittings as you see them. Also be on the look out for galvanized pipe. Although most cities will not make you tear it out to replace it unless the gas meter is ever locked off for any reason, it still should be noted when it is found on a job.
The Flex hose is not designed to run through a cabinet. Always recommend an upgrade due to code enhancements.
