COLLINSVILLE — Dinosaurs return to the Riverbend this weekend for the Dino Stroll, July 17-18, at Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville.
This week the center is being transformed into the Mesozoic Era with more than 70 life-like creatures, reptiles and life-size dinosaurs — some standing more than 24 feet tall and spanning more than 60 feet long. The depicted dinosaurs include tyrannosaurus rex, velociraptors and stegosaurus.
The animatronic dinosaurs have moving heads, necks, tails and wings. Their eyes blink and their mouths open and close, illustrating breathing movements. There also are synchronized sounds and spraying water as part of the display.
Guests will be able to become paleontologists and study skeletons, fossils and dinosaur eggs. Roaming characters will interact with guests and entertainment will be offered by the Dino Band.
