Amazon.com : Zareba A-48B 4-Inch Step-In Fence Post

11 Nov.,2023

Update [ 1/5/2023 ]
--------------------------
I broke out my dial calipers and made some measurements between the DARE vs. ZAREBA Step-in Post and here's the specs.

Cost per Post - DARE/Zareba [ $2.69 ]
Post Width - Dare/Zareba [ 0.980" ]
Length - Dare [ +0.500" ]
Plastic Body Thickness - Dare [ 0.130" ] vs. Zareba [ 0.095" ]
Clip Width - Dare [ 0.435" ] vs. Zareba [ 0.350" ]
Step-In Thickness - Dare [ 0.130" ] vs. Zareba [ 0.095" ]

As you can probably tell from the photos, the DARE step-in posts are much thicker and built heavier than the flimsy & brittle Zareba posts. This is the MAIN REASON why the Zareba posts are overpriced garbage when you consider the DARE & Zareba posts cost are identical hence you are not getting ripped off!

Hopefully, this saves some farmer from wasting their time buying this cheaply engineered junk and instead buy a quality and time tested product from DARE instead.
--------------------------

I bought 2 boxes of these for pasturing of beef cattle in two large hay fields this fall. Needless to say, I was really ticked off to find out that these poly posts are cheaply made garbage compared to DARE posts.

I've probably had 7-8 posts snap in half in just 2 weeks and several more where the wire clip part just breaks off making the post worthless!

I've compared these side-by-side to our DARE step-in posts and the Zareba posts have thinner plastic construction and seem to be much more brittle meaning they are HIGHLY PRONE to breaking which is great for Zareba but not for the farmer. I'm going to post comparison pictures when I get to free time to prove my point!

I will NEVER buy anymore step-in posts from Zareba again because I can only see these posts lasting a few years before all 100 are broken! We have DARE step-in posts that are 10+ years old and are 100x more durable and they are EXACTLY the same price as this junk ($2.69 per post)!
